Dear Rachel,
My experience interning at the Teen Environmental Media Network was very positive. The way that you have communicated with both Damian and me has made this internship fun and productive. You did a great job getting us to work right away. I enjoyed getting out the pens and paper and brainstorming what the current website looked like and the changes we wanted to make. This was very useful and also a creative way for us to organize our ideas. The inspiration software was also a useful tool and I am very glad that you showed us how to use it. In fact I even was able to use it for an outline for a school project. Although we have not yet finished our project, I think we have made good progress and I am looking forward to finishing the final product.
Besides this being fun I also have taken many things away from the internship. For example, both Damian and I learned how to draft a business letter, a very important skill in the working world. We also learned how to present our ideas to a client, who may not understand everything we are talking about. This required us to clearly explain our thoughts and ideas. We also learned how to receive feedback and then make changes based on the comments from you and other inters
One of my favorite things of the intern was that we were not just working with adults. We were also working with other interns who shared the same passion as we did. Getting feed back from other teens and discussing ideas with with you and the other inters, made this a very pleasant experience. Damian and I both appreciate your enthusiasm for our project. It always makes you feel good when you know that people appreciate what you are doing. I feel that there is lots of positive feelings about the work that both Damian and I have done and this is something that I am very happy about. I also think it is great that I am getting this opportunity to take a skill that I have and think is cool, and am able to bring this skill to a company and help them with something that they want, but do not have the resources to make. So thank you for creating this positive and fun experience for us and I am looking forward to continue on with this project.

Week 9

I worked 10 hours this week,

for a total of 70.5 hours.

For the final week of my intern I have worked on my WLE pressentation. For my pressentation I will pressent on what I did for my intern. I will talk about how I got the intern and what my goals were when I started. I will also talk about what I acomplished and what I took away from my intern. I will show the podcast page that I have been working on. Since I have not quite finished the project I will work on my own time to finish. I will write a tutoriol for future interns to update the podcast page.

Overall I think that the internship went will. It started off a little bit slow, however as we got in the groove it felt more comfortable. Damian and I were able to use eachother as a first line of defence if we got stuck. I think in the begining we did not really understand exactly what we were suppose to be doing, but as we continued to go in we felt like we were getting the hang of it. This intern was a positive experience for me and I am glad that I had this opportunity.

Week 8

I worked 10 hours this week,

I have worked for a total of 60.5 hours so far,

This week I went to my internship at TEMN twice, once on Tuesday and again on Thursday. On Tuesday Damian and I took a page that we made in Fireworks and uploaded it to the FTP site. At first FTP sounded a bit intimedating, however once we did it once I found it was much easier than I had though. Basically you go the the FTP site, type in a username and password and then drag the files into the write folder. On Wednesday I went to the Novato Charter School and helped them with their Power Points for their 8th grade projects. I had to refresh on Power Point since I haven't used the program for a long time. I wished they had used Keynote, but I didn't want to change programs into their projects. On Thursday I went into TEMN and Rachel and I reviewed how she wants the podcast page to be.

Damian and I am going to pressent our final project on May 18, which is on a Thursday at 4. We will present the old and new site. We will talk about the changes we have made, mabe explain the brainstorm we made on the first day. We will also say what goals we created at the beginning of the intern and then say how we accomplished these tasks. We will also talk about how are intern went, what we learned, and what we took away from it.
